Eating Right Using Protein Smoothies

Can I be honest? I hate working out. With that being said, I LOVE the way I feel after a workout so 90% of the time I make myself get up and go do it. Plus, the whole keeping the bod toned and tight (well kind of tight) sort of requires a little exercise. Did you know getting up and working out is only a small part of getting and staying fit? That’s right, you HAVE to work out to make progress, but you also HAVE to stick to a diet. Eating right using protein smoothies is one of the best ways to stay healthy.

What do I mean by eating right?

I mean sticking to your meal plan by sitting down and writing out what you’re going to eat and when. When you’re doing this remember it is important to eat 5 to 6 times a day. For me, that means a well-balanced breakfast, lunch, and dinner then protein shakes in between meals. Eating right also means balancing your meals with enough protein, carbs, and vitamins/minerals to help keep you full until your next meal and gives your body the nutrients it needs. Schedule out your meals and shakes so you are eating every few hours. This helps your body know when it can expect the nutrients which maximizes its ability to burn fat.

Since we’re working out at least a few days a week we need to make sure we are getting enough protein after a workout. I do this using Power Blendz Vanilla Pro-Whey Powder. It tastes great and is 100% whey protein isolate. I chose this protein over other Power Blendz proteins because it has 18 essential amino acids including BCAAs which make sure your protein isn’t going to waste. As I mentioned above, I eat right by using protein smoothies. I drink 2 protein shakes a day, so variety is everything! I workout at 6am and typically find myself exhausted afterwards and entirely too tired to get creative with my shakes. In the afternoon the Smoothie Queen comes out in me and all kinds of different concoctions are being mixed up in my blender to continue to eat right using protein smoothies. Pro Tips For Eating Right Using Protein Smoothies

  • Buy and freeze your fresh produce. Not only will it last longer but it eliminates the need to add ice which can water your smoothie down
  • Add your protein powder after your liquids for better mixing so the protein powder does not stick to the blender
  • If your smoothie is too liquid then add ice and blend again. If it is too thick then add water and blend again.
